Theatrix School of Makeup was founded by Gina Anki, owner of Toronto’s internationally acclaimed Theatrix Costume House and Founder/CEO of both The Children’s Arts Theatre and CATS MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY.

A veteran to the world of theatre, Ms. Anki brings over 35 years of theatrical experience to the company.  With a credible talent base of experienced Costume Designers, Show Coordinators, Wig Masters and Tailors, Theatrix has built a solid reputation within the theatre and film industry.

Our vision is to further develop and better serve the film and television industries, both locally and internationally.

With our immersive training programs, students get real-life work experience with some of the best makeup artists in the business. Covering the subjects of fashion and beauty, theatre, film and television, and special effects; students will be prepared for a wide range of career fields. Our small and intimate classes allow more individual attention for each student with an all access resource of costume and many brands of professional makeup.

We have created a unique program to teach students not only the importance of theory, but also to give them relevant job experiences with our educators.

Students will be prepared for the real world through participation in a variety of jobs in many career fields. These include photo shoots, fashion shows, film shoots, theatre productions, events and much more. This opportunity will give our students a head start in the industry.
